Actor Lee Donghwi talked about the correlation between a film's box office success and actors' pay. He said, "Just because a project becomes a hit, doesn't mean the actors earn a lot of money."
On the episode of SBS' 'My Little Old Boy' that aired on the 10th, Lee Donghwi appeared as a special MC and showed off his entertaining talk skills.
As an actor who has starred in three films that surpassed 10 million viewers, Lee Donghwi has established a strong presence through the success of 'Veteran,' 'The Roundup: Punishment,' and 'Extreme Job.'
When the panels showed interest by saying, "You must have made a lot of money," Lee Donghwi responded, "Unless they are involved in the production, actors don't actually make that much money."
He added, "Regardless, my family is incredibly happy and they've watched the movies multiple times. My mother, in particular, invites her friends and acquaintances to watch my movies for more than ten times. Whenever I go to stage greetings, she's always there. She shows up so often that sometimes I pretend not to know her on purpose."
During the episode, Lee Donghwi also referred to Ma Dongseok and Yoo Jaesuk as his life savers, sharing his special connections with them.
Having worked with Ma Dongseok on 'The Roundup: Punishment,' Lee Donghwi said, "I learned so much while working with Ma Dongseok. First of all, he takes great care of the people around him, and by personally producing projects, he constantly creates work opportunities for fellow actors and staff members."
Having worked with Yoo Jaesuk through the project group MSG Wannabe on MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo,' he said, "I received so much love through variety shows. That's why I feel extremely grateful."
