Singer Lee Mujin claimed that he hasn't received settlement earnings amounting of 2.1 billion KRW from his agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment.

On the 27th, the Seoul Central District Court held a hearing over Lee Mujin's request for an injunction to suspend the validity of his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment

Lee Mujin had previously informed Big Planet Made Entertainment in March of the termination of his exclusive contract and later filed the injunction request on the 7th of this month.

During the hearing, Lee Mujin's legal representative explained, "We notified the termination of the exclusive contract because the debtor (Big Planet Made Entertainment) failed to fulfill its settlement payment obligations, yet Lee Mujin is still being listed as an artist under the company on portal sites and other platforms," adding, "A court ruling is needed so Lee Mujin can continue his entertainment activities more securely."

Lee Mujin's side further claimed that Big Planet Made Entertainment failed to pay settlement earnings totaling 2.1 billion KRW.

In response, Big Planet Made Enertainment stated, "We do not believe the circumstances preventing the payout of setlements are entirely the debtor's responsibility," and added, "If Lee Mujin wishes to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract, we are willing to accept it."

However, the company also expressed regret, saying, "Given the years we spent working together, we feel devastated that he is leaving in this way while the company is going through difficult circumstances."

The court gave both parties three weeks to negotiate. If they fail to reach an agreement, the legal dispute will continue.

Previously, through his legal representatives, Lee Mujin stated, "I have not received settlement payments for Q2, Q3, and Q4 of last year and Q1 of this year."

Big Planet Made Entertainment is a label under One Hundred. Along with Lee Mujin, artists including VIVIZ, BE'O, and Lee Seunggi have also notified the company of contract termination over unpaid settlements and failures in management support obligations.

Born in 2000, Lee Mujin rose to fame through JTBC’s 'Sing Again.' He later established himself as a singer-songwriter with hit tracks including 'Traffic Light,' 'Coming of Age Story,' 'Episode,' and 'Propose.'
