Kim Soohyun’s side: “Kim Soohyun should now return to where he belongs”

After police concluded that the allegations raised by Garo Sero Research Institute CEO Kim Se-ui regarding actor Kim Soohyun and the late Kim Saeron dating while she was a minor were false, Kim Soohyun's legal representative released another statement.

On the 23th, attorney Go Sangrok stated on social media, "Actor Kim Soohyun is simply a victim of a crime, not someone standing on the equal position with the defendants (currently suspects) in the trial process."

He continued, "That is why we have not responded to the absurd claims repeatedly made by Kim Se-ui on YouTube until now, and we plan to continue maintaining that principle."

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station recently wrote in its arrest warrant request submitted to prosecutors, "The suspect intentionally spread false information to defame actor Kim Soohyun despite fully knowing that he had not dated the deceased while she was a minor and that he was not responsible for the circumstances surrounding her death."

Previously, actress Kim Saeron, who had been taking time for self-reflection following a drunk driving incident, posted a photo of herself posing cheek-to-cheek with Kim Soohyun and deleted within about three minutes in March 2024, sparking dating rumors between the two. At the time, Kim Saeron stated, "I am currently preparing an official statement," but a few days later added, "After much consideration, I decided not to release one." Kim Soohyun's agency, Gold Medalist, denied the rumors, saying, "The rumors are completely groundless. We have no idea the intention behind Kim Saeron's actions."

Kim Saeron later passed away at her home on February 16 last year at the age of 25.

From March 10 of the same year, Garo Sero Research Institute CEO Kim Se-ui, alongside with Kim Saeron's bereaved family, claimed through broadcasts and press conferences that Kim Saeron had dated Kim Soohyun for six years starting from when she was in the third year of middle school while he was in his late 20s. As evidence, they also released screenshots of KakaoTalk conversations, audio recordings, and private body photos.

On March 31, exactly 21 days after the allegations first surfaced, Kim Soohyun held a press conference and refuted the claims, stating, "I did not date the deceased when she was a minor," and argued that some of the evidence presented by the bereaved family, including KakaoTalk conversations with the deceased, had been fabricated and were fake.

Dayoung: “I didn’t get a tan. This is actually my natural skin tone ... I used foundation three shades lighter all over my body during girl group promotions"

SOURCE: 다영, "태닝 안 했다, 지금이 내 피부…걸그룹 땐 온몸에 3단계 밝은 베이스 발라" 고백 ('전지적 참견 시점')

Dayoung made a guest appearance on 'Omniscient Interfering View' and shared the story behind her late-blooming success, including how she flew to Los Angeles using her own money and eventually achieved first place as a solo artist.

On the episode of MBC's 'Omniscient Interfering View' that aired on the 23th, singer and actress Lee Jooyeon and WJSN's Dayoung appeared as guests.

In the studio, when Yang Sehyung told Dayoung, "You look like a foreigner," she honestly replied, "I'm from Jeju Island. I can't speak English." Then Jeon Hyunmoo added, "You look like someone who just came out of a tanning salon," and Dayoung responded, "Everyone thinks I got a tan, but this is actually my natural skin tone."

She continued, "When I was promoting with WJSN, I used foundation three shades lighter all over my body. Back then, I used up a whole bottle of foam cleanser every two weeks because I had to wash the foundation off my entire body," She drew attention by adding that promoting with her natural skin tone now feels much more comfortable.

In the following VCR footage, Dayoung's highly productive daily schedule was revealed. She woke up exactly at 5 AM, with her phone filled with early-morning alarms. Dayoung explained, "I wake up early because nobody contacts me at dawn, so I can focus completely on myself." As soon as she opened her eyes, she started her day by watching motivational videos.

Dayoung, who had dreamed of becoming a singer since the age of four, also revealed the emotional story behind her solo debut. During WJSN's contract renewal discussions, she felt limited trying to prepare a solo album while balancing variety show activities. She confessed that she told her agency she was going on a vacation to her hometown in Jeju Island, but instead bought a plane ticket to Los Angeles and flew the very next day. She stayed there for three months and produced an album using her own money.

After booking the flight, she remembered singer Eric Nam, whom she already knew personally. With his help, she was able to resolve issues like getting introduced to local composers and getting assistance with the translation. Dayoung joked that she spent so much money during that time and said, "I'm basically bankrupt now." After independently producing a high-quality album and concept, she eventually received approval from her agency, successfully debuted as a solo artist, and even achieved first place on music shows.

Looking back on her win, Dayoung said, "At the time of my comeback, there were four solo artists promoting. There were so many fierce competitors. I thought to myself, 'This will probably be my last solo album,' but after winning first place, I felt a sense of relief, thinking, 'Maybe I’ll get to release another album,' and I started crying," creating an emotional moment.

While Dayoung pursues absolute perfection in her work, her life at home turned out to be much more practical and laid-back. In this episode, the interior of her house was revealed. Her belongings that casually scattered around showed that she focused more on functionality over aesthetics. In this space, she studied English early in the morning while wearing a face mask pack. She impressed the panel members by revealing that she mainly watches White House press briefings to learn the accent and proper pronunciation. Furthermore, she also demonstrated strict self-discipline with her diet by holding back her cravings and snack on vegetable sticks insead.

Lee Jooyeon: "My father opposed me becoming a celebrity ... He read all the malicious comments and was hurt. It breaks my heart"

Lee Jooyeon shared her thoughts about dealing with malicious online comments.

On the episode of MBC's 'Omniscient Interfering View' that aired on the 23th, Lee Jooyeon and Dayoung appeared as guests.

To mark Family Month, Lee Jooyeon invited her parents to her home, where they shared conversations while eating a meal she personally cooked. Regarding her father, she said, "He used to work as a public servant, but after retiring, he now works part-time at a bank." Her father happily mentioned that many people recognized him since his appearance on the previous episode.

Lee Jooyeon's father talked about Lee Jooyeon's personality growing up, saying, "She was such a messy child that her nickname was 'Dung Fly.' Since her name is Jooyeon, we also called her 'Joopal.' We never had any celebrities in our family, so it felt unfamiliar to us. I actually opposed her becoming a celebrity. She's not unintelligent at all. In her third year of high school, she even won the grand prize in mathematics," speaking proudly about his daughter.

Her father added, "Back then, whenever I read online comments, it truly broke my heart seeing so many terrible things written about her. I'm so glad that these days there are many good comments."

Lee Jooyeon smiled and said, "I personally don’t spend much time online, but my dad reads everything. Even if there are hurtful comments directed at me, I’m okay. What really worried me was my family getting hurt because of them. That broke my heart, even though I could endure it myself." She then added with a laugh, "But now there are so many warm comments that my dad says he feels full even without eating."

Hyeri recalls fainting during her promotions with Girls' Day: "I felt a crack in the back of my neck ... I don't remember anyting"

SOURCE: 혜리, 걸스데이 시절 실신…"뒷목 뜨득, 기억 안 나"

Hyeri looked back on the time she fainted on stage during her promotions with Girl’s Day.

On the 22nd, Hyeri talked about her experiences of fainting alongside actress Park Kyunghye on her personal Youtube channel.

When Park Kyunghye asked whether she had ever fainted before, Hyeri answered, "If you search 'Hyeri fainting,' it comes up."

Regarding the situation at the time, Hyeri explained, "I came home after participating in curling at 'Idol Star Athletics Championships,' and I felt freezing cold. I went to sleep with the electric blanket turned up to the highest setting, but I was still freezing."

She continued, "I went to the hospital, but because there was a music show scheduled, everyone was scrambling over whether I should perform or not. I received an IV drip, and in the end we decided I would skip rehearsal and only go on for the live broadcast."

Hyeri shared that she stayed lying down right until she had to go on stage. She said, "I was lying there thinking, 'I really don’t think I can do this,' and then I went up on stage. After the first verse, there’s a choreography move where you raise your arm, and the moment I did that, I felt something crack in the back of my neck, and after that I don’t remember anything."

Despite that, she still managed to finish the performance. Hyeri recalled, "By the time it ended, my face was completely drenched in sweat. Still, I just thought, 'Let’s just finish this somehow.' I couldn’t even sing properly."

She added, "The performance ended with us facing away from the audience. The moment I sat down, all the tension broke and I felt like I was going to throw up. Then I blacked out."

Hyeri reflected, "Well, that was something that happened more than 10 years ago. It’s not something worth admiring. Everyone goes to work even when they’re sick, right? But if it happened now, I probably would’ve postponed it because I felt way too unwell. Back then, I was part of a team."

Back in 2014, Hyeri collapsed after finishing Girls' Day’s performance of 'Something' on a music show and was later taken to the hospital for treatment.

Girl's Day's Yura revealed that she gained 8kg in just two months: “It was my first time reaching 56kg… I starved myself back down to 47kg, and it made me look older.”

SOURCE: 걸스데이 유라, 두 달 만에 8kg 증가 "56kg 처음..굶어서 47kg까지 뺐더니 늙어 보여"

Yura, formerly of Girls' Day, opened up about the difficulties she experienced because of rapid weight fluctuations.

On the 22nd, a video titled 'Yura, who only walks 143 steps a day, and ‘Kick a Goal’ captain Kim Heejung are surprisingly real best friend' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'YuraYurahae.'

In the video, Yura recalled the time she was filming the movie 'Marrying the Mafia: Returns' and said, "At the time, I drank alcohol almost every single day. I had maintained 47kg for four years, I suddenly gained 8kg in only two months while filming that movie."

In response, Kim Heejung asked, Yura, who is 170cm tall, "Isn't 56kg considered normal for your height?" However, Yura replied, "It was a weight I had never hit before in my life. I had never gone above 54kg even once. But after filming that movie, I hit 56kg for the first time because of the beer belly, and afterward I practically starved myself so I could immediately return to 47kg."

She continued, "But because I completely quit drinking and barely ate while losing the weight, my cheeks suddenly became hollow and I instantly looked much older. Losing weight when you're younger is definitely different from losing weight as you get older."

She added, "So I gained some weight again. Once I got back to around 50kg, my face started looking better," but also shared, "Even so, people still told me I looked too skinny and kept asking, ‘Are you sick? Shouldn’t you get a health check-up?'"
