IOI's 10th anniversary reunion almost fell through ... Yoo Yeonjung: "The comeback plans fell apart twice"

Yoo Yeonjung of IOI, who recently made a glamorous comeback after 10 years, shared her feelings about the preparations behind the group's eventful reunion.

On the 27th, a video titled, "I laid down to sleep and suddenly we're talking about love stories: Dating, marriage, family, self-love, IOI" was posted on the Youtube channel of dancer-turned-creator Kwon Ttotto. In the video, Chungha, Yoo Yeonjung, and Jeon Somi appeared as guests and shared various conversations with Kwon Ttotto.

In the beginning of the video, Kwon Ttotto expressed her excitement, saying, "Today, I invited some friends I can talk comfortably with. This time, IOI is making a comeback. Back when I was active as a dancer, I used to work with Chungha. I also used to spend a lot of time together with Yeonjung too. As for Somi, we only knew each other through mutual acquaintances, so this is actually the first time we've properly talked like this."

The four then discussed IOI's comeback. During the conversation, Yoo Yeonjung honestly shared her thoughts, saying, "Honestly, our comeback plans fell through about once or twice before. Even this time, everyone was doubtful, wondering, 'Will this actually work?' Among ourselves, there was this unspoken feeling that if it fell apart again this time, it would really be over forever. So we thought, 'No matter what, let's stick together. Let's make this happen.' I think that's what made this comeback actually happened."

Chungha then added, "When we get together, we actually lose money. We actually can earn much more when we promote individually." Yoo Yeonjung continued, "Honestly, we weren't in a financially comfortable situation while preparing this comeback. However, there were so many people who helped us, saying things like, 'I know you guys aren't making money from this, but I'll give up making money too and join you this time.' Thanks to people like that, this album was created. That's why this album really feels like love."

Following their debut in 2016, IOI ended their activities in 2017 after their contract concluded. This May, they reunited with fans by releasing their 10th debut anniversary album 'IOI: LOOP.'

Kang Mina makes surprise visit to IOI concert rehearsal

Singer and actress Kang Mina visited the concert rehearsal site to show her support for IOI's members.

According to multiple industry sources on the 28th, Kang Mina made a surprise visit that afternoon at the rehearsal for IOI's 10th debut anniversary tour, '2026 IOI Concert Tour: LOOP,' and met with the members who are scheduled to hold concerts from the 29th to the 31st at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.

According to a representative from IOI's side, Kang Mina was unable to attend the actual concert dates because of a prior schedule, so she personally made time to visit the rehearsal instead. It is reported that she warmly greeted the members, who had reunited after a long time, showing their strong bond.

Formed through Mnet's 'Produce 101' in 2016, IOI gained nationwide popularity with hit songs such as 'Very Very Very' and 'Dream Girls.' After their group activities came to an end, the members pursued careers in different fields before reuniting to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Currently, Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Chungha, Kim Sohye, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Lim Nayoung, and Yoo Yeonjung are promoting together with the 10th anniversary song 'Suddenly.'

Previously, Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong were unable to participate in the 10th debut anniversary promotions due to scheduling conflicts, leading to speculation about possible conflict among the members. However, it has been confirmed that Kang Mina personally visited and showed her heartfelt support to the members ahead of the concert, putting the rumors to rest.

Following her debut with IOI, Kang Mina transitioned into acting and earned praise for her performances in dramas such as 'Hotel del Luna,' 'Moonshine,' 'Café Minamdang,' 'Welcome to Samdal-ri,' and 'Twelve.' She is also scheduled to greet viewers through the upcoming tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' which premieres on June 22.

Nearly nine years after their 2017 concert 'Time Slip – IOI,' the group will once again stand together on stage, starting with the Seoul concerts before continuing the tour in major Asian cities including Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Track and field athlete Kim Mingee, known as 'The 'Karina' of Track and Field' and for appearing on 'Single's Inferno 5,' personally opened up about her beauty care routine and experiences with cosmetic procedures.

On the 28th, a video titled "How to get a prettier face shape without plastic surgery? Summary of recommended and non-recommended procedures and treatment" was uploaded to Kim Mingee's Youtube channel. Having appeared on Netflix's 'Single's Inferno 5' earlier this January, Kim Mingee answered fans' questions and explained her transformation journey. Kim Mingee clarified, "I really haven't had any plastic surgery at all," explaining that she achieved her current appearance from beauty treatments and non-surgical procedures.

Instead of surgery, Kim Mingee opened up about undergoing orthodontic treatment. She shared, "I got braces twice. In total, I spent four years doing orthodontic treatment alone." She explained that she first got braces in high school but was unhappy with the outcome. Later in college, after hearing someone tell her, "Noona, I think you'd be so pretty if you just got braces," she visited a specialized orthodontic clinic and underwent another year of treatment. She explained that at the time, she had eight teeth removed, including four wisdom teeth and two front teeth on each side.

Regarding the changes in her face shape, she said, "Since I had eight teeth removed, I think there was plenty of room for everything to move back. That's probably why my lower face became smaller." She also revealed why she decided to get veneers, saying, "When I first saw myself on video, my teeth looked like they stuck out so much," adding, "Even when I was filming for commercials, the advertisers told me not to smile, which made me decide to get veneers."

Regarding her face shape maintenance, Kim Mingee admitted, "I got chin filler and Botox for my chin." She explained that she often received comments about how she used the muscles around her mouth during photoshoots, so she tried to make improvements through cosmetic treatments. However, she strongly denied getting Botox for her jaw. She added, "Still, I think the braces made the biggest difference. No matter how much Botox you get, I think getting braces twice really changed things."

Furthermore, she also shared her experience with nose fillers. Looking back, she said "I really didn’t like how my face looked when I appeared on 'Single's Inferno 5,'" adding, "I chose the wrong clinic. I went in dissatisfied and came out still dissatisfied." She emphasized how important it is to choose the right clinic to achieve the desired results.

NCT's Doyoung donated 100 million KRW to the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention to support military personnel protecting the country and families who lost loved ones to intentional self-harm.

On the 29th, the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention announced, "Doyoung made a donation of 100 million KRW to the foundation to support intervention efforts related to intentional self-harm among South Korean military personnel, as well as children and teenagers of the bereaved families."

Doyoung shared, "One thing I often tell my fans is, 'Tomorrow will definitely be happier than today.' I believe tomorrow always moves one step closer to a warmer and happier direction than today," adding, "I hope this donation can become a source of strength that allows everyone to take courage."

Jung Yoonsoon, the chairperson of the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention, said, "Protecting the mental health of military personnel and helping children and adolescents from the bereaved families to  recover from grief are important tasks for building a stronger social safety net," adding, "Doyoung's heartfelt sharing will become a meaningful lifeline for people standing at the edge of despair."

In this episode, Choi Yena draws attention by sharing stories that highlighted her loyalty and filial devotion. She revealed, "Before my contract ended, I received offers from several agencies, but in the end, I decided to renew with my current company."

She continues with a heartwarming story, "I was physically weak when I was younger, so my parents struggled a lot because of me," adding, "I wanted to repay them, so I bought them a house, and we also go on overseas trips together every year."

Meanwhile, Zhang Hao surprises everyone by talking about his unusual food preferences. He said, "I'm not picky when it comes to food. Actress Kang Mina, formerly a member of the project group IOI, directly denied recent speculation about conflict with the members.

Through a fan communication platform, Kang Mina recently shared, "Even now, the members and I contact each other almost every day, saying we miss each other and congratulate one another" adding, "I honestly don't know why people live so exhaustingly by spreading rumors that I have conflict with the members." She continued, "Rather than doing that, just spend your time to congratulate the members for winning first place," dismissing the rumors of conflict.

Recently, as IOI celebrated the 10th debut anniversary by releasing a new album, 'IOI : Loop,' some netizens speculated that there might be a conflict among the members because Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong did not participate in the project.

However, Kang Mina had already explained that she could not participate the reunion due to scheduling conflicts. In an interview last month, she said, "I was aware that the project had been in preparations since the second half of last year, but it overlapped with my drama filming and promotions schedules, making it difficult for me to join," adding, "I thought the best thing I could do was honestly explain the situation to the members."

Furthermore, at an official event, Kang Mina also stated, "I decided to focus on my acting projects that had been scheduled first," and added, "I feel incredibly sorry toward the fans, but I hope to show an even better side of myself through acting."

The LED screens displayed messaged like, 'Yoon Dowoon, leave (the band),' 'No official statement,' and 'Do you support Dowoon's withdrawal?' Rather than the dating rumors itself, dans clarified that their anger was caused by how the situation is being handled.

Recently, dating rumors between Dowoon and Yoo Jiyoo spread across online communities. Netizens online pointed out the shared matching items and accessories, similar pet photos, and even mutual acquaintances. The rumors quickly escalated to marriage rumors after account surfaced claiming that the two was spotted going for a wedding consultation. Yoo Jiyoo is known to be the younger sister of Youtuber Yoo Hyejoo.

"It felt like my legs were being stabbed with knives" f(x)'s Luna opens up about her struggle with panic disorder

Luna made a broadcast appearance with her mother for the first time in a while and honestly opened up about the difficult time she went through because of panic disorder.

On the episode of MBC's 'Please Take Care of Mom' that aired on the 24th, Luna and her mother carefully shared personal stories they had never discussed publicly before.

On this day, Luna's mother prepared a seaweed soup seasoned with homemade soy sauce along with acorn jelly for her youngest daughter. After eating the food her mother had personally cooked, Luna swayed her body out of joy and said, "My stomach hasn't been well lately, I really craved for my mom's seaweed soup," and added, "When I was at my lowest point, my mom's seaweed soup helped me get through it." Her mother responded warmly, "We endured (the hard times) so well."

Luna confessed, "During promotions in my mid 20s, I started wondering, 'Is this panic disorder? Or is it depression?' Eventually, the panic disorder manifested as physical symptoms. I would feel pain on my legs, as if it were being constantly stabbed with knives."

Her mother recalled, "At the time, the only thing I had on my mind was to stay beside my daughter. But she didn't want that. She would tell me, 'Mom, can you please leave me alone for a while?' Even so, I didn't give up. I cried and begged her. But she doesn't seem to remember any of it now."

Luna eventually broke down crying and said, "I was suffering too, but I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for my parents." She continued, "Even during my trainee days, my parents never once showed they were struggling. I used to think, 'My mom never sleeps.' But it turned out that she developed bronchitis from working so hard, her hands would also swell really bad."

Luna explained, "The period when my mental health began collapsing coincided with the period when people I loved started passing away one after another. Around the same time, the project I took on required me to play a character who took her own life. After that, I was diagnosed with depression and panic disorder. I have since completed treatment and am now living healthily."
