Actress Jin Kijoo shared a super fun update on her growing global popularity right now.

If you've been keeping up, 'Teach You a Lesson' has been killing it since it came out on the 5th, consistently holding down the #1 spot on Netflix’s charts. The series follows the story of Education Rights Protection Bureau as they try to restore order to a completely collapsing education system. To celebrate the release, TV Report met up with Jin Kijoo for an interview at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Let's be real, 'Teach You a Lesson' was surrounded by drama before it even dropped. The original webtoon faced heavy criticism over allegations of sexism and racism, and they even had to replace the lead actor, which made the whole production process pretty messy. Given all that, everyone was wondering what actually made Jin Kijoo choose this project.

She explained, "I really liked the clear premise that victims are protected. Sometimes in our society, things that should be obvious aren't treated as such. Reading the script gave me a sense of relief in that regard. I also trusted that the writer would tell this story in a warm and thoughtful way, and I had great confidence in the director."

Jin Kijoo also admitted that working on this project completely opened her eyes to how harsh schools actually are these days. She shared, "Even when watching the same news as everyone else, I found myself paying much more attention whenever there was a story related to education." She added:

"Sometimes, I felt reality was even harsher than the drama. So much has changed compared to when I was a student. As we prepared for the project, I would share such articles with the cast whenever I came across it."

Despite all the early concerns, the show has officially turned into a massive global hit, ranking #1 worldwide for three consecutive weeks and completely stealing viewers hearts.

Naturally, the interviewer had to ask if she's been obsessively checking her social media followers now that international fans are flooding in. Jin Kijoo laughed and totally admitted:

"I do find myself checking the number of my followers. It's fascinating when I wake up and see the number has changed from the day before. An international fan even created a chronological timeline of my life, including what I did before becoming an actress. I found that incredibly fascinating."

When asked about the most memorable reaction she's gotten so far, Jin Kijoo shared a really emotional story, "A friend shared one with me. His mother and wife are both teachers. He said they watched the show in tears. I heard this shortly after the realy, so it has stayed with me." She added:

"'Teach You a Lesson' is realistic, yet blended with elements of fantasy. It can make you laugh and cry, and then cry and laugh again. I think that's why people are responding so positively to it."

Regarding the core message of the show, Jin Kijoo shared her thoughts, "There's a line spoken by my character, Im Hanrim: 'The Education Rights Protection Bureau sincerely cares about victims.' I think that line represents what the series wants to say. It's also something that every single character carries deep in their heart."

The globally popular 'Teach You a Lesson' is currently streaming on Netflix if you want to see what all the hype is about!

Singer Ben has opened up about the real reasons why she decided to get a divorce just six months after giving birth.

We got the full, unfiltered story when K.Will recently dropped a video titled 'Knowing Hyungsoo' on his Youtube channel on the 24th. In this episode, Ben shared, "I feel like I've been through everything. Naturally, my personality has changed as well." She added:

"The divorce process was difficult, and ending it was, of course, incredibly painful. It wasn't just a simple breakup. We had a child together. I made the choice to get a divorce just 6 months after giving birth."

Ben admitted that things had been rocky for quite a long time, recalling, "I often say that I carried the burden of living with that person for five years. Since we weren't just simply boyfriend and girlfriend, I have to be extremely careful. I tried holding it in, getting angry, and many other things. Then I became pregnant. She explained that the pregnancy felt like a lifeline at first, saying:

"When things were at the hardest, I became pregnant. I thought, 'This child has come to save me.' I believed that no matter what happened, I would finally be happy."

But she revealed that things quickly took a turn, saying, "But even at that moment, another incident occured." She added, "I feel betrayed. It was just too overwhelming to handle."

Even when she decided to separate, the choice wasn't easy. She shared, "Even when I was separating, I kept wavering. I wondered, 'Should I not leave?' and 'Is this really the right choice?" She revealed that what ultimately pushed her forward was looking at the bigger picture:

"I looked ahead. I imagined my daughter 3 years later, when she would be 6 years old, and asked myself, 'Will things be better by then?' Somehow, I felt like I would probably still be having the exact same thoughts. I figured if it wasn't going to work, it was better to end it sooner than later."

Breaking down in tears, Ben added, "I'm not good at ending relationships. Especially when I love someoney, I love deeply and give my everything. There were many things that happened that broke the trust between me and my ex-husband, but aside from that, he was still someone I truly loved. That made the breakup extremely painful."

Despite the heartbreak, Ben stands by her choice. She emphasized, "Marriage is not something you can sustain based on feelings alone. That's why I made a very difficult decision." She continued:

"Even now, I believe getting a divorce was the right move. I need to be whole, I need to be happy, and I need to survive so that my child can survive too."

Ben also confessed that her family wasn't initially on board, stating, "My father was strongly against the divorce." She added, "He's from an older generation, so he has a different way of thinking. He told me that everyone lives through such things. I feel incredibly sorry to my father, but I have a long life ahead of me, I had no choice."

On top of that, Ben was also pressured by the fear of the public eye. She admitted, "What scared me the most was that I had announced, 'I'll be back after giving birth safely,' and then ended up getting divorced." She added:

"I was afraid of how people would look at me and what they would say. I'm in a profession where I'm constantly being judged, and this was a choice I made. Even so, I couldn't help being afraid."

Looking back on her fearful past, she continued, "I was so scared that my body was literally trembling from the anxiety. I never regretted my decision, but I was terrified of what people would think. I worried that the public would think I'm ridiculous for leaving to have a baby only to return as a single mother."

Ultimately, that fear is why she decided to join the cast of 'All By Myself.' She admitted, "Deciding to appear on the show was also a difficult choice, but I thought it would be better if I told my story myself. The fact that I'm a single mother isn't going to change, and it's not like I did anything wrong. I wanted to show that this was a choice I needed to make in order to live well."

To give you the backstory on her relationship, Ben married a businessman back in 2021 after a period of public dating, and they later welcomed their daughter. However, they announced their divorce in 2024. At the time, her agency stated that the divorce was due to 'fault on the husband's side' and confirmed that Ben would take the full custody of their child.

As for the project that's currently blowing up, 'Teach You a Lesson' follows the story of the Educational Rights Protection Bureau, an organization established to protect teachers' rights and restore order in South Korea's education system after it gets completely disrupted by unruly students, teachers, and parents. It's safe to say the intense plot is definitely hitting the right notes globally right now.

Actor Heo Namjun mentioned his twin younger brother as he made an appearance on the episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' that aired on the 24th.

During the episode, when Yoo Jaesuk mentioned, "I heard your twin younger brother is tall and handsome," Heo Namjun jokingly disagreed right away:

"By my standards, he's not handsome."

Heo Namjun then shared, "Back in school, he was more popular than I was. I was a late bloomer when I was young. I was short compared to kids my age, while my brother was always tall, had a good build, and broad shoulders." He added:

"I was the type of guy that girls found fun and cute to have around, not because they had a crush on me. On the other hand, my brother is the one who was always popular."

When asked how his brother usually addresses him, Heo Namjun revealed something that honestly is very relatable for anyone with siblings. He shared:

"He normally just calls me 'Hey,' but whenever he wants something, he'll send me a link and say, 'This looks good, Hyung,' or 'Buy this for me, Hyung.'"

To top it all off, the show gave viewers a little bonus by showing a photo of Heo Namjun hanging out with his twin brother's child, which added a wholesome ending to the story.

Aespa's Winter just shared the real story behind her newly adopted puppy, completely shutting down all the random online speculation that she got the dog from a pet shop.

During a voice live broadcast she held on a fan communication platform on the 23rd, Winter spent some time talking about the puppy that recently became part of her family. When fans asked where she actually got the dog, Winter clarified:

"It came from a shelter. I heard the puppy had been at an auction, but no one took it, and it was at risk of being sent to a breeding facility. The shelter rescued it from there and that's why I adopted it."

The whole issue started back on the 18th when Winter first posted a few photos of a young puppy on her personal social media account to announce the adoption. She was being a totally relatable, stressed-out first-time dog owner, asking fans questions like, "If a puppy sleeps with its eyes rolled black, should I close them?" and "How do you train a puppy to stop nipping?"

Even though it was a wholesome moment, as soon as those photos were posted on the internet, speculation about how she got a puppy that young started spreading like a wildfire across online communities and social media. People started leaving completely unverified claims, saying things like, "It looks like a purebred dog. Did she get it from a pet shop?" and "Did she pay to get the puppy?"

Fortunately, Winter didn't let the rumors linger and used her live broadcast to explain that she adopted a rescue dog from a shelter, clearing the air immediately.

Recently, public interest in pet adoption culture has risen significantly, so everyone is paying extra attention to where pets actually come from. Because issues like illegal breeding facilities and animal auctions are becoming major social issues, shelter adoption is getting a lot of support lately. This is why more celebrities are starting to openly explain their pets' background to get ahead of any potential misunderstandings

By giving the backstory of how she saved her puppy, Winter was able to share this new chapter with her fans in a completely transparent way.

TWICE is officially entering another contract renewal season and word just got out that Jeongyeon recently had a meeting with VARO Entertainment.

A representative from JYP Entertainment stated to Xports News on the 24th:

"TWICE is currently in the process of discussing contract renewals. The company and the members are continuing careful discussions while respecting each other's wishes. We will provide an update once things are finalized."

Earlier that day, reports revealed Jeongyeon had a meeting with VARO Entertainment. If that agency sounds familiar, it's because they manage some huge names, including actor Byun Wooseok and Jeongyeon's older sister, actress Gong Seungyeon.

Regarding this matter, VARO Entertainment quickly clarified things, saying:

"It's true that we had a meeting with Jeongyeon, but nothing has been finalized regarding an exclusive contract."

If we look back, TWICE debuted in 2015, and all the members successfully renewed their contracts together in July 2022. Now that they're entering another contract renewal season, public interest is growing over whether the members will re-sign and keep promoting together as a full group.

Former NCT member Mark Lee has recently come under fire and issued an apology after being spotted in a T-shirt featuring a symbol tied to far-right ideology.

The backlash prompted a response from his independent agency, Upper Room, which posted a lengthy apoloy statement on their social meddia accounts on the 23rd. The agency stated:

"We sincerely apologize for the concern, discomfort, and disappointment caused by the vintage T-shirt seen in recently shared photos."

The agency explained that once they realized the historical background and sensitivity of the symbol displayed on the shirt, they tried to make sure it wouldn't be visible in official content. They admitted, "Despite these efforts, the image was still shared and has sparked concern. The agency continued:

"Regardless of our intentions, we recognize that we should have handled this with much greater caution. Overlooking this was entirely our responsibility."

They also further added, "We understand the seriousness of the concerns that have been raised and deeply apologize for the pain caused by this incident."

Wrapping up the statement, the company noted, "We sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt, offended, or disappointed by this matter. We promise to act with a greater sense of responsibility, awareness, and attention in the future."

To break down why everyone is so upset, the T-shirt Mark wore featured the Confederate flag. This was the official flag of the Confederate states that supported slavery during the American Civil War. Over the course of the 20th century, the flag became widely recognized as a symbol of racism and far-right movements. In fact, displaying or selling merchandise with the Confederate flag is actually restricted or banned in certain parts of the United States.

The situation is getting extra attention given that Mark is a Canadian citizen and literally just left SM Entertainment to establish his own independent label, Upper Room, making this a pretty rocky start for his solo chapter.

IOI's Choi Yoojung opened up about how profit distribution works in idol groups and shared the harsh reality of idol earnings after nearly 10 years in the industry.

Recently, Kian84 visited Choi Yoojung's home in a new video titled 'With Choi Yoojung,' which just dropped on the Youtube channel 'Life84' on the 23rd. Since Choi Yoojung is currently preparing for a solo album release, the two had plenty to talk about.

When Kian84 asked if she gives her mom allowance money, Choi Yoojung replied, "Not very often, but I do whenever I can." She added, "Once I receive my settlement payment, I'll be able to give her some soon," and then laughed about how she told her mom just yesterday, "I think this album is going to do well," to which her mom jokingly replied, "Let's stay close."

Since Choi Yoojung is now hitting her 10th year since debut, Kian84 naturally brought up the income situation. He asked, "Hasn't it been 10 years since your debut? Shouldn't your earnings be pretty good by now?"

But Choi Yoojung completely shattered the illusion and honestly replied:

"Unless you become extremely successful, it's actually not easy to make a profit."

Kian84 was totally shocked by her answer and countered, "But weren't you successful? You placed 3rd on 'Produce 101,' released a solo album, and even did musicals. 'Produce 101' wasn't just watched by idol stans, it was a national phenomenon." Choi Yoojung replied, "We didn't realize it at the time. We only understood how big it was after it ended."

If you haven't been keeping up, IOI recently reunited for the first time in 10 years, and they've been generating massive buzz after their new song 'Suddenly' sweep the #1 spot on music charts.

Then, Kian84 went for the ultimate question: "If you make 100 million KRW in profit, how much would you actually get?"

Choi Yoojung broke down the reality of the corporate structure, explaining:

"Inevitably, they cut a huge chunk out. Everyone has their own agencies, and then there are the members too. I just get whatever is left over."

Hearing how crazy the split is, Kian84 noted, "There has to be something left for you too. Otherwise, how can you stay motivated?" But Choi Yoojung made it clear that the reunion was purely about the bond, not the paycheck. She said, "If everyone only thought that way, we wouldn't be able to reunite," and revealed, "Our reunion actually fell through twice before."
