Taeyong opened up about how earnings are distributed within NCT.

Recently, Taeyong appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel 'Zip Daesung.'

During the episode, Daesung brought up the NCT universe, which consists of 24 members, and asked, "In a way, NCT is one huge family. How do the earnings settlements work? If NCT 127 promotes, do the other teams get paid too?" In response, Taeyong answered, "No. You can basically say that the teams are strictly separated."

Daesung then jokingly asked, "Then can you make a suggestion like, 'I want to try joining that team too'?" After thinking for a moment, Taeyong replied, "That actually sounds kind of fun. Like being a mercenary?" drawing laughter.

Taeyong continued, "We actually have a separate unit called NCT U that's formed exactly like that. Depending on the concept, members who fit well together will promote as a team. I think it allows us to make more varied contents under NCT's identity.

Regarding being the leader, Taeyong joked, "I don't have the official title of leader, but I'm the oldest." He then reflected on how his mindset changed after completing military service, saying, "I have a lot of regrets about my early 20s."

Taeyong confessed, "Back then, I was really strict with the members. I was the scary Hyung. I would intentionally ruin the mood during every practice session." He added, "Honestly, that continued even after we debuted. At the time, I thought it was the best decision, but I regret it because if I had been wiser, I could've become someone they could lean on when they had nowhere else to run." However, he also admitted, "Still, I think it was inevitable. If I went back to that time, I probably would’ve scolded them the same way, just a little more wisely."

Meanwhile, Taeyong recently released his first full-length album, 'WYLD.'
