TWICE's Jeongyeon shed tears while expressing sincere feelings toward her older sister, actress Gong Seungyeon.
On the episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' that aired on the 17th, a preview clip was released on its official social media account with the caption: "Jeongyeon's hardest times. Gong Seungyeon, who always stayed by her side as her pillar of support."
In the video, Jeongyeon looked back at the time she temporarily halted her acitivities in 2020, saying, "At that time, I relied on my sister a lot. I was struggling mentally, and my sister said, 'Something seems wrong with your body,' and 'I think you should go to the hospital.'" She continued, "That’s how I was diagnosed. It was my first time hearing the word 'Cushing.' Thanks to my sister, I was able to receive treatment properly and become healthy again, so I’m very thankful."
Jeongyeon also openly expressed her affection for her sister. She said, "I'm so happy that my sister is doing really well and receiving a lot of love these days. I’m really grateful that she's my real older sister. Thank you, and I’m sorry," before eventually bursting into tears.
Watching this, Gong Seungyeon became emotional and shed tears as well. She said, "I didn’t expect her to talk about this. I'm sorry for hitting you," making everyone laugh while crying. Recalling those days, she shared, "Back then, Jeongyeon was struggling so much. I felt anxious leaving her alone. Even when she lived in the dorm, I kept visiting her, made her stay at our house, and wanted to keep her close to me. That’s why I suggested that we live together."
She continued, "I’m so thankful that she overcame it all. Hearing people say things like, 'She got so pretty' and 'She's back to her peak visual' makes me happy too," before adding, "My younger sister is someone who does everything sincerely no matter what she does. She does everything so well, so I have absolutely no doubts about her."
Meanwhile, the episode of tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' featuring Gong Seungyeon will air on the 20th at 8:45 PM (KST).
