Top star A, contrary to his diligent and sincere image, is actually known for being '4D' (eccentric). While gaining popularity overseas, he often calls local guides and other officials even in the early hours of the morning when he is abroad for overseas promotions. Even though he was accompanied by his agency manager, A personally made calls at 2 or 3 AM and openly demanded, "I want to play badminton," and always made sure that his requests were fulfilled. One industry insider remarked, "I don't understand why he keeps calling local officials instead of telling his own manager, it's causing inconvenience."

Let me share a fact: During a fan meeting at Bangkok’s Paragon Dome Concert Hall on 3 March 2014, after all the chairs and event setups had been completed, Kim Soohyun said he wanted to play badminton. So the Thai event coordinator said he would find a nearby badminton court, but Kim Soohyun said he wanted to play badminton at the fan meeting venue due to privacy concerns. As a result, all the arranged chairs and event setups had to be cleared away. The event staff hurriedly made a badminton court with tape, borrowed a net from a nearby badminton court, and installed the badminton court at the venue. Kim Soohyun then played badminton for about an hour before leaving to prepare for the event. Afterward, the event staff had to remove the tape, take down the net, and set up the chairs and refreshments all over again. It's not the fact that he played badminton that's the problem, but if he needed to, he should have told them in advance. Locals widely regarded this as an abuse of his celebrity status. This incident has long been well-known in Thailand but was not widely reported in Korea. There is a lot of evidence for this incident.

-This has been buried all this time? Wow...

-Whoa... He has surprised me so many times now. He's such a disgrace to our country.

-Hul, this is unbelievable.

-There are probably a lot more cases of power abuse that haven’t been exposed yetㅠㅠ...

-Does he think he's a prince? He's acting all high and mighty... What the f*ck.

-Wow, that's a real abuse of power. He's so obnoxious.

-I don’t want to see him again.

-Hul... He's seriously such a nuisance.

-Celebrity images are really just illusions, all created by the media. Journalists must have known the truth all along.

-Whoa... This is legendary......;;; I really the him.

-The staff must have had a hard time. Why didn't he just play at a badminton court if they found one for him...?

-Wow... Truly a national embarrassment.

-He’s really done all sorts of things.

-It's fascinating how this has been buried until now...

-I already hate him, but now I hate him even more.

Kim Soohyun is currently facing allegations of having dated the late Kim Saeron when she was a minor, making the release of Disney+ series 'Knock-Off' uncertain. Initially scheduled for broadcast next. month, there are reports that Disney+ is internally deliberating as the public sentiment rapidly worsens.

(Cont'd)

Production officials are concerned that this controversy may lead Disney+ to hesitate to produce K-Dramas in the future. This is because 'Knock-Off' is one of the high-budget productions scheduled for release this year. Disney+ had high expectations for the series, having invested significant effort in global promotion and marketing. An industry insider stated, "With Kim Soohyun rising to global stardom through 'Queen of Tears,' Disney+ was likely aiming for a breakthrough in both the domestic and Asian markets. However, this unexpected scandal threatens that opportunity." When Disney+ first launched in South Korea, it faced difficulties securing K-Dramas because Netflix had already secured long-term contracts with major content producers such as Studio Dragon and Contentree JoongAng.

The rising production costs due to fierce competition are also a burden for Disney+. Once the production costs rise, they rarely decrease. In particular, high-profile actors setting new pay standards. naturally impact other stars with similar popularity. Currently, Netflix is the only platform that can put a brake on these trends. Of course, they are not immune to 'actor risk' either. For example, the movie 'The Match' which was scheduled for release in 2023 was canceled as the lead actor Yoo Ah-in was investigated for propofol abuse. The film changed distributors and nearly two years later will finally be released in theaters on March 26.

Some speculate that Disney+ may proceed with 'Knock-Off' despite the controversy. This is because many penalty clauses in contracts only apply in cases of a confirmed conviction, and dating a minor alone is not grounds for legal punishment. Currently, South Korean law criminalizes adult-minor intercourse under statutory rape laws only if the minor is under 16. Before May 2020, the threshold was 13. Since the court judges based on the laws in effect at the time of the act, Kim Soohyun is not subject to punishment. Even if the contracts include clauses regarding 'causing public controversy,' the. meaning is ambiguous, leaving room for legal dispute.

theqoo

-What are you talking about? They’re not the only options.

-I'm not going to watch their works anyway.

-Instead of relying on big-name actors and their high appearance fees, they should just focus on the quality of the work.

-Actors are surprisingly pretty easy to replace, thoughㅋ

-There are plenty of actors who are active and not problematic. Losing these two won't make a huge difference.

-The problem isn't just the actors. The industry is also at fault for still hiring them despite knowing the scandalsㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Who told you to pay that much money for them??

-Isn't Disney+ still pushing ahead with the filming of 'Knock-Off'? It's a series, right?

-If you’re getting paid that much as a lead actor, at least live responsibly and properly.

-The industry will run just fine without them.

-There are plenty of other actors. No need to worry.

-There are plenty of decent actors out there~

-Men.

-Stop hiring criminals.

-The acting industry won’t collapse without them. Stop overreacting.

"I was able to relieve the burden by working with Han Gain, who is older than me. Since Gain is even already married, I was worried that we might not be able to connect. I think I will have many opportunities to act alongside actresses in their 30s in the future"

An interview from 2012

The work he was referring to: 'The Moon Embracing the Sun'
The mention of actresses in their 30s refers to Han Gain, who was born in 1982, making her 30 years old at the time of the interview in 2012.
(Kim Soohyun was born in 1988, they have 6 years of age difference)

The way he mentioned 'Since she's already married' is just... weird. I just found out about this now^^
What does he even mean by 'Even already married'?

theqoo

-He's so full of f*cking bullshit.

-??????? This seriously makes me want to throw upㅋㅋ

-What is this bastard even talking about?

-What kind of 'connection' is he talking about that gets blocked by the fact that one of them is already married...?

-Well, it'd be a disaster if she can connect well with a pedophile anyway.

-What does he even think acting is? Does he actually believe that he's dating the actresses he works with? He's seriously so weirdㅡㅡ

-Isn't Han Gain, like, way more senior than him...?? That is so rude.

-The way he thinksㅋㅋㅋ Straight up like an old man...

-You're supposed to be acting, not dating. What do you mean you can't connect with her because she's married?

-He's also born in the '80s... The way he puts it makes it sounds like they have 10 years of age difference.

-Wasn't he in his rising days during this interview????? This was right after. 'Dream High', right????? Han Gain was already a top star by then.

-Does he have some kind of fear of mature women or something?

-He's making such a big fuss about a 6 year age gap... Sigh. Just focus on acting.

-So, his way of thinking has always been that weird...

-I guess he connects well with minors, then. Freaking pervert.

We are eagerly waiting for Kim Soohyun's statement next week.

We will be waiting for a sincere, public apology to the late Kim Saeron's family.

If he continues with lies and excuses...

Three truly shocking photos and a video will be released.

These are incomparable to the pictures that have been revealed so far.

Actress Kim Saeron personally stated that she dated Kim Soohyun for 6 years:

From 19 November 2015, when she was in 8th grade, until 7 July 2021.

We will see how long this shameless, pro-China star Kim Soohyun will continue to lie.

We, Garo Sero Research Institute, will fight to the end for actress Kim Saeron...

who suffered so much at such a young age...

and her bereaved family.

theqoo

-Seriously... No one at Garo Sero Research Institute speaks normally...?

-Can they just shut up already? It's pissing me off. (I'm not talking to Kim Saeron's family).

-Sigh... I can't stand Garo Sero Research Institute. I hope Kim Soohyun just retires or does something already so that I don't have to see them act up anymore. How long do we have to watch this mess?

-Pro-China star? What's with this bullsh*t? I just hope Kim Soohyun will apologize quickly and get punished so that Garo Sero Research Institute can stop acting up.

-Why are they randomly throwing in 'pro-China star'?

-I f*cking hate Garo Sero Research Institute, but I never thought there'd be a day when I'd hate Kim Soohyun more than them..

-Just retire already.

-That f*cking Garo Sero Research Institute.... Kim Soohyun, just admit and apologize properly.

-I really hate seeing Garo Sero Research Institute ㅋㅋㅋㅋ This is all because of KSH.

-I hate seeing Garo Sero Research Institute too. So Kim Soohyun, just apologize quickly and retire already. Why do you have to drag it out until next week?

According to a TenAsia report, Kim Soohyun has confirmed his participation in the scheduled filming of ‘Good Day’ today. Kim Soohyun's close associate, A, said, "Kim Soohyun and his agency have never notified anyone about withdrawing from 'Good Day.' The production team never asked him to leave the show." A further added, "'Good Day' team is standing by Kim Soohyun, trusting him. Kim Soohyun is simply keeping his promise as it is a schedule that was planned a long time ago." A continued, "In addition to 'Good Day,' the filming of Disney+'s 'Knock-Off' is also going to proceed as planned."

‘Good Day’ is a music project where singer G-Dragon creates this year’s defining song while collaborating with figures from various fields. It marks Kim Taeho PD’s return to MBC and serves as G-Dragon’s first fixed variety show since his comeback. Kim Soohyun is appearing on 'Good Day' as a member of '88 (Hwang Kwanghee, Lee Soohyuk, Jung Haein, Yim Siwan, GDragon).

A commented, "Kim Soohyun is currently going through a very hard time. He is so mentally exhausted that staff members are staying close by his side to support him." A added, "Kim Soohyun has been personally going to each of his colleagues and staff members to apologize." On the 12th, Kim Soohyun reportedly approached the cast and directors of 'Knock-Off' during the filming to apologize.

theqoo

-What are you talking about?

-When she passed away, you were so happy that you bragged about your birthday gifts on Instagram, though?

-He should be apologizing to Saeron and his family. He should take full responsibility and pay for his sins.

-What about Saeron? What about her family?

-He's 'mentally exhausted,' but he's going around apologizing to his colleagues and staff members one by one?ㅋ

-Do I need to know this?

-He didn't even go to her funeral. What are you talking about?

-So what?🤮

-Why is he suddenly apologizing to unrelated people??..ㅋㅋㅋ

-Bullsh*t. He's a criminal.

-Someone died and he didn't even go to her funeral. Now, you're saying that he's going through a hard time...? After all that happened...?

-So disgusting and sickening.

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Playing victim much?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-He didn't even attend her funeral, but now he's putting on a show.

-Look at him apologizing because he's afraid his image in the industry will get damaged.

Mr. A: "Kim Soohyun is going through a hard time. He is so mentally exhausted. He has been personally apologizing to everyone"

Viewers are expressing their anger as Kim Soohyun is reported to have participated in the filming of 'Good Day.'

On the 13th, MBC 'Good Day' production team told Xports News, "We proceeded with the filming by minimizing the scheduled activities," confirming that Kim Soohyun participated in the filming that took place that day.

Kim Soohyun is currently involved in controversy over allegations of dating a minor. As news of Kim Soohyun's participation in the filming of 'Good Day' spread, viewers flooded the 'Good Day' viewer bulletin board with criticism like, "Is the production team out of their minds?", "Go ahead with the filming. I hope you all hold hands and leave the industry together," "Please remove Kim Soohyun from the show," and "If you're gonna do this, just cancel the whole show altogether."

Even before the news of 'Good Day' filming surfaced, there had been a series of posts calling for Kim Soohyun's removal from the show. Many viewers, who expect Kim Soohyun to leave the show or have his scenes edited out, are unable to hide their anger.

Meanwhile, Kim Soohyun has become the center of controversy following allegations that he had been in a relationship with the late Kim Saeron since she was a minor. While his agency strongly denied the claims as 'clearly false,' the controversy escalated as photos of the two engaging in physical affection surfaced online.

In response, Kim Soohyun's agency has announced that they will release a statement based on clear evidence next week, drawing even more attention to the situation.

[Current 'Good Day' guest lineup]

G-Dragon, Hwang Jungmin, Jung Haein, Kim Goeun, Aespa, SEVENTEEN (BSS), DAY6, Jung Hyungdon, Jo Seho, Kwanghee, Yim Siwan, Lee Soohyuk, Ahn Sungjae, Defconn, Daesung, Taeyang, Code Kunst, Kian84, Hong Jinkyung.

As far as I know, Aespa is excluded from today's filming due to their flight schedule.

Not sure if this is a group or unit shoot, but the whole show is being damaged by Kim Soohyun alone. I think Kim Taeho PD deserves to get the blame for allowing a grooming offender to appear on the show.

I just hope he stops causing harm to the cast members and their fans.

theqoo

-Yeah, let's just cancel the program. Is the PD out of his mind?

-Do they think viewers are fools?

-I find it ridiculous how they dismiss this as if it's just some casual dating rumor. This is not just a minor incident.

-Kim Taeho has kids of his own... F*ck him.

-What did the other cast members do wrong to deserve this? The show should cut him off at this point.

-They must be crazy.

-We need to boycott this show. There are so many brain-dead people rooting for this show.

-I feel like throwing up. Just cancel the show.

-Whoa... Did he actually participate in the filming?? His shamelessness is surely on another level... His mentality is impressive.

-Whoa... They're all filming together?

-I honestly wonder how he had the audacity to show up.

-Group shoot??????? I'm a fan of one of the cast members and I hate the thought of seeing my idol in one frame with him.

-If I see them laughing together, I don’t think I can look at them the same way again.

-Please just step down from the show on your own.

-…Can’t they just kick him out?

Viewers outraged as Kim Soohyun continues filming 'Good Day' despite controversy ... 'Cancel the show'

It's much bigger news overseas than in Korea

theqoo

-Ugh... What a f*cking national disgrace.

-I can't believe I cried along while watching the tearful acting of a pedophile bastard like him. F*ck.

-Pedophiles don’t deserve to be treated as human.

-K-Diddy fits him perfectly.

-Who’s Diddy? Puff Daddy?

-Congratulations.

-The fact that he's still trying to appear on TV while his news caused a stir overseas... It makes me want to swear.

-Congratulations, K-Diddy. Wishing you a speedy retirement.

-What's Diddy? What does it mean?

-The way that he's still laughing and filming variety showsㅋㅋㅋ

-He might be getting defended in South Korea, but overseas, he's already finished.

-A country where criminals live just fine...

-It must be nice for him. He's become a global artist now.

-Whatever. F*ck him. Just spread this news everywhere.

Kim Soohyun is already being called K-Diddy in foreign media

At the time, Kim Saeron had to endure harsh criticism as she was seen as having caused an accident while driving under the influence and engaging in bizarre behavior that hindered the rising star Kim Soohyun. However, the situation changed dramatically when evidence of a romantic relationship between Kim Soohyun and Kim Saeron was revealed about a month after Kim Saeron’s death on the 16th of last month. If they didn’t date, what did it mean for Kim Soohyun to kiss Kim Saeron, who was a minor? Why did he fail to protect Kim Saeron if they really had such a special relationship? And why did he not even offer condolences or pay tribute when Kim Saeron passed away? The questions are growing uncontrollably.

In particular, on the day Kim Saeron passed away, even Seo Yaeji, whose image had been severely damaged after getting involved in scandals such as academic record forgery and controversy regarding her ex-boyfriend, posted a tribute. This makes Kim Soohyun's cold behavior towards Kim Saeron even harder to understand.

theqoo

-True.

-If they weren't dating and he still kissed her...ㅋㅋㅋㅋ That's a crime too. Either way, it's a crime.

-ㅋㅋㅋ Seriously, though... He kissed a minor he was not even dating/

-I'm sure there's probably so much evidence. Who would believe it if he said they weren't dating?

-That makes it sexual harassment then.

-Seriously, though... It's more problematic if they weren't datingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-If they weren't dating, it's a problem... If they were dating, that's also a problem... If he was serious with his relationship with her, it's a problem... And if he wasn't, it's also a problem...

-Seriously, though... Either way, it's problematic.

-Whatever the situation is, it's problematic. Just retire.

-He didn't date her but he wrote her love letters, saying that he loved her...

-He didn't go to her funeral but attended a listening party a few days after that... I really can't understand how he could do that.

-If he kissed her when they weren't dating, that's sexual harassment against an underage.

-Told y'all... He just couldn't explain the whole thing.

-If they weren't dating, then he sexually harassed a minor. That's also a crimeㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This article is spitting facts.

Kim Soohyun, you're even more problematic if you didn't date her ... Why did you turn your back on Kim Saeron after kissing her when she was underage?

Before her death, Kim Saeron suffered from endless attacks and malicious comments from provocative YouTubers, and her family continued to endure this pain even after her passing. On the afternoon of the 12th, The Fact interviewed Kim Saeron's aunt by phone to discuss the details of the ongoing controversy.

The Fact also contacted Kim Soohyun's agency, Gold Medalist, to hear their position on sensitive issues such as whether or not they were dating and about the legal notice regarding the repayment of 700 Million KRW. Although the agency answered a few times by phone that afternoon, they avoided making statements by saying "We need to coordinate internally first," and ultimately did not provide any response until late at night.

Below is the phone conversation with Kim Saeron's aunt.

Q: First of all, can you explain the 700 Million KRW in damages that was stated in the legal notice sent by her former agency?

A: After the DUI incident, she paid for all the damages, such as the broken electronic transformer and repairs of the businesses around, without any help from the agency. She did her best to pay off everything she could, but there was no more money left to pay the rest. The damages of the production of the Netflix series 'Bloodhounds' which was canceled due to the DUI incident, amounted to around 690 Million KRW, roughly close to 700 Million KRW. This money was paid by the agency, but according to Saeron, Kim Soohyun personally lent her the money.

Q: Initially, it was mentioned that the total amount of damages due to the DUI incident and advertising penalty fees were said to be 20 Billion KRW. What is this about?

A: Saeron wasn't a top star. It's unlikely that her advertising penalties would reach that amount. I heard that the production cost for the Netflix series 'Bloodhounds,' was around that amount. If they passed all of that onto Saeron, it would make sense that the total amount was close to that. At the time, about 80% to 90% of the filming was already completed, and Saeron said she would take responsibility and finish the filming, but this wasn't accepted. The final compensation that she had to bear was about 700 Million KRW.

'Bloodhounds' was produced as a Netflix original drama in June 2023. It consisted of a total of 8 episodes, directed by Kim Joo-hwan, who directed the films 'Midnight Runners' and 'The Divine Fury,' and co-produced by Seed Film and Studio N. Actors Woo Dohwan, Lee Sangyi, Park Sungwoong, and Heo Junho appeared in it. This drama, which went through many twists and turns before its release, reached number one globally within a week of its release.

Q: What do you think is the reason why Kim Saeron, who was the agency's 1st star, chose not to renew her contract and received a legal notice from her company that demanded repayment for the aftermath of the DUI incident?

A: It's true that Saeron made a mistake with the DUI incident, but he sent her a legal notice with the names of 3 lawyers listed on it, demanding such a young girl to pay back 700 Million KRW, which was obviously too much for her to handle. I think he probably realized that it would be difficult for her to make a comeback and he wanted to get rid of the negative association with the young girl he once dated. I don't know if Kim Soohyun initially understood Saeron's situation at first, but from what I heard from Saeron, he had a fight with his cousin because they had different opinions on the issue of repaying the money.

Q: They both had different claims about whether or not they were in a relationship at one point. What's the truth?

A: What kind of parents would lie about their dead child? The family found out about their relationship just before Saeron transferred to Gold Medalist. There was too much of an age gap to call them dating, but it's clear that they both liked each other. When Saeron transferred from YG to Gold Medalist, she insisted that they were very fond of each other. Even though he's a famous actor, her parents strongly opposed the relationship out of concern due to the huge age gap.

Q: What do you regret or feel sad about now that Saeron has passed?

A: It's very heartbreaking to know that we couldn't comfort Saeron through her pain. I can't even express my disappointment in her former agency. Despite her parents' objections, they took Saeron in and Kim Soohyun reassured her parents by saying, "I will take full responsibility. Don't worry." However, after such an irreversible incident happened, they did not provide any support and instead drove her to a corner. If the agency couldn't be there for her in her difficult times, who else could she trust?

Kim Saeron's aunt said, "We will also take legal action against the provocative YouTuber (She specifically mentioned the former entertainment journalist, Mr. L) who drove our Saeron to death." A petition for stronger measures against YouTubers who invade privacy is currently being conducted. She sobbed, "The petition runs until the 26th. I hope many people will join in so that we can strengthen the weak punishments. Even though Saeron is gone now, I hope that no more unfair deaths will occur in the future due to careless, irresponsible privacy violations."

theqoo

-Goodbye, Kim Soohyun.

-He blatantly groomed her when she was a minor, kept her under his control, then discarded her when she became an adult, and drove her to death. Pedophile, sociopath.

-They're only reporting it now? It's too late. The media is so rotten.

-He said he'd take responsibility, but then pushed her off a cliff? Even animals wouldn't do that.

-He claimed to lend her the money personally, then why did he send the legal notice under the agency's name? This is sickening.

-I hope he admits and apologizes before more photos come out today...

-How can a person be so evil?

-So now they're listening? The media is no different.

-.... This is truly horrible.

-My heart breaks for Saeron, it’s so tragic.

Tearful interview with the late Kim Saeron's family: "Kim Soohyun said he would 'take responsibility'"
