A survey revealed that 57.3% of unmarried men and women in their 20s and 30s have no dating experience. While 'economic reasons' were cited as the main cause, a significant proportion also responded with 'no particular reason'.
Data consulting firm, PMI, conducted a survey including these contents targeting 1,174 unmarried men and women aged 20 to 59 nationwide ahead of Valentine's Day, the company announced on the 14th.
In particular, the survey found that 75.8% of respondents were not currently dating. Only 24.2% claimed to be in a relationship. Regarding the number of relationships, 36.9% answered '1-2 times', 19% '3-4 times', and '5 or more times' accounted for 18.5%. Those who had never dated amounted to 25.5%.
The main reason for not dating was 'economic reasons', accounting for 17.2%. 'No particular reason or unknown reason' (15.8%), 'no suitable partner' (10%) also accounted for a high percentage. 'Too lazy' and 'lack of interest' were 9.5% and 9%, respectively.
According to the survey, respondents prioritized 'personality' (33.5%) when choosing a dating partner. 'First impression, appearance' accounted for 25.4%, 'values' for 13.6%, and 'financial ability' for 5.9%. A notable point from the survey was that the proportion of the people in their 20s and 30s among respondents with no dating experience reached 57.3%.
A PMI official stated, "These results reflect a tendency to move away from traditional interpersonal relationships and pursue self-realization through different forms of interaction."
-I'm too busy with work, meeting friends, and hobbies, don't even need to date.
-Is this for real? I thought I was the only one who's not in a relationship.
-I'm 28, and there are a lot of singles around me. Among my close friends, there are fewer who have dated than not.
-I used to date a lot, but now I'm too lazy... Besides, it's rare to find someone decent.
-I'm single too, but just because of my age, I don't want to add explanations, so I just casually pretend I've met someone.
-If you say you have never dated anyone when you're already in your late 20s, people go crazy. That's why I just lie and say I've dated before.
-I have never dated anyone too. It's too bothersome to explain, so I pretend I've dated before.
-Are there really this many??? Seriously...??? Sometimes people get all worked up when you say you're single, so I just pretend I'm not single, but is that really necessary?
-It seems like everyone around me is getting married except for me...
-Whether in the past or now, I just don't develop affection for people... It's not because I want it to be that way.
-All my friends are in relationships except for me, though...

Universal Music Group reportedly to remove music catalog from TikTok starting tomorrow after unsuccessful negotiations with TikTok. This can affect K-pop acts under their labels. pic.twitter.com/Or6J1SEG1V

Universal Music Group and TikTok recently failed to reach an agreement in negotiations, so starting from tomorrow, singers under Universal Music will not be able to use TikTok to share their music.
Most K-pop artists are signed with Universal Music, which complicates the situation.
Just looking at the lineup of artists found on KakaoTalk, there are BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, NMIXX, TXT, Seventeen, New Jeans, LE SSERAFIM, (G)I-DLE, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, Jeon Somi, and more.
-It seems like they'll reach an agreement in the endㅋㅋㅋㅋ
-Since it's Universal, they'll probably handle it well on their own.
-Is it only for K-pop artists or all pop artists combined?
-They'll probably resolve it anywayㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
-It's hard to find young people in the U.S. who don't use TikTok...
-I think Universal might suffer more... TikTok will undoubtedly suffer, but since people have already gotten used to TikTok, except for those artists, they might do challenges or something with other songs, etc., on TikTok. Even if other similar platforms emerge and everyone says they'll move, ultimately, many people will still use it despite complaining. So, TikTok will probably just be like that.
-What's this fuss about TikTok? Nowadays, promoting through TikTok is the trend in marketing.
-So does that mean they can't upload songs at all...?
-If this happens, will the challenge culture on TikTok wither away?
-TikTok is kind of like public Instagram Stories. All the young people in the U.S. use it in their daily lives.
-That's good. Let's get rid of challenges while we're at it.
