On the episode of KBS2's 'Mr. House Husband 2' that aired on the 9th, Kim Jaejoong stepped in to help Takuya. Having known Takuya personally, Kim Jaejoong commented on Takuya's overly showy lifestyle and did not hold back on nagging him as they went around together.

Takuya revealed that he recently searched for his biological father and met him in person. Kim Jaejoong, who was adopted into his current family at the age of three, said, "When I was in the military, I heard that my biological father requested a visit. I refused it. He also sent me letters, but I don't keep them." He added, "I don't have as much courage as Takuya, nor do I have the generosity to forgive. Being able to forgive someone in life is truly an incredible thing. Takuya is amazing."

However, Kim Jaejoong asked if Takuya's stepfather and family knew about this. Takuya shook his head and said no. Kim Jaejoong responded, "Don't be like that. Just like we worry about our family, our family worries about us too," and added, "In the past, I secretly met my biological mother behind my family's back, and the whole family was turned upside down. They were all shocked," and encouraged Takuya to gather the courage to be honest.

SOURCE: “오늘 하루 잘 살자” 시청자 울린 박보영…백상서 완성된 ‘미지의 서울’

The acceptance speeches by 'Our Unwritten Seoul' star Park Boyoung and director Park Shinwoo at the Baeksang Arts Awards have left a deep impression on many viewers.

At the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 8 at COEX D Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, 'Our Unwritten Seoul' star Park Boyoung won the Best Actress Award in the television category, beating out strong nominees including Kim Goeun, Park Jihyun, Shin Hyesun, and Lim Yoona.

Taking the stage, Park Boyoung delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech in a trembling voice. She said, "I really hate competition, and there were many moments when I felt overwhelmed and exhausted due to constantly having to prove my worth and usefulness." She continued, "At times like that, I'd look around and see so many amazing actors beside me. I didn't want to fall behind. It made me want to do even better. Maybe those sharp-edged feelings of not wanting to lose are what made me who I am today."

She added, "I want to express my deep respect and gratitude to the many actors who have been good, well-intentioned competitors and, at times, my pacemakers."

Recalling the time she chose the project, Park Boyoung confessed, "I chose 'Our Unwritten Seoul' out of a great ambition. Until the filming began, I spent many days worrying and regretting my decision, wondering, 'With what confidence and courage did I choose this project?' and 'Can I really do a good job?' Every time that happened, reading the script gave me courage that I didn't even know I had."

Lastly, Park Boyoung said, "To all the 'deers' and 'hermit crabs' in this world, I want to say this: yesterday is over, tomorrow is still far away, and we don't know yet about today. So, let's just live well through today." Her words deeply resonated with both the audience at the venue and viewers at home.

On the same day, 'Our Unwritten Seoul' director Park Shinwoo, who won the Best Director award in the television category, also touched viewers with his speech.

Director Park stated, "We live in a world where if you are not useful, you are left behind. I believe TV dramas should exist for those who have nowhere to lean on, who are lonely, who don't even have the time to go anywhere, or who cannot afford to pay to watch something." He continued, "I believe existing for those people is the true 'purpose of drama.'"

After the two shared their heartfelt acceptance speeches, messages of empathy and support flooded online communities.

Netizens reacted with comments like, "Park Boyoung's trembling acceptance speech felt like it completed 'Our Unwritten Seoul'" "It was a drama that gave me great comfort during difficult times," and "Watching this drama at the end of an exhausting day gives me the strength to live through tomorrow."

BLACKPINK Jennie earns 24 billion KRW in settlements just two years after founding her entertainment company

SOURCE: 블랙핑크 제니, 엔터社 창업 2년 만에 정산금 240억 ‘대박’

BLACKPINK's Jennie reportedly received over 20 billion KRW in settlement payments over the past two years through the entertainment company she founded. These settlements consisted of income from her concerts, advertisements, appearance fees, and other individual activities. By securing a more favorable settlement structure compared to the typical ones under other entertainment agencies, the amount of profit returning directly to her appeared to have increased significantly.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service on the 9th, OA Entertainment paid Jennie 9.5 billion KRW last year as a settlement. Combined with the 14.3 billion KRW paid in 2024, her total settlement earnings over two years reached 23.8 billion KRW.

In November 2023, Jennie established her own one-person agency, OA Entertainment, to manager her individual activities. OA stands for ODD ATELIER, refering to a space for creating new things that garner attention. Jennie owns 100% of the company's shares, while her mother, Park Nana, serves as CEO.

Thanks to Jennie's active career, OA Entertainment reportedly became profitable immediately after its establishment and has maintained a stable financial structure. In 2024, effectively its first full year of operation, the company recorded 18.9 billion KRW in revenue and 580 million KRW in operating profit. In 2025, the revenue increased by 26% year-on-year to 23.8 billion KRW, while the operating profit decreased by 33% to 390 million KRW.

It was also revealed that, in addition to receiving large settlements from the company, Jennie also personally supported the company's operating funds. OA Entertainment's shareholder loans stood at 2.86 billion KRW at the end of last year, more than eight times higher than the previous year. Although the company posted net profits, its operationg cash flow was negative, which means the loans were intended to cover operating expenses and timing gaps in settlement payments.

Jennie is not the only artist to establish an entertainment company and receive settlements in the tens of billions of KRW. A representative example is PSY, who founded P NATION. According to P NATION's audit report, the company paid PSY approximately 17 billion KRW in settlement last year. This large sum is believed coming from major revenue generated through events like his 'Summer Swag' concert series. Additionally, former TVXQ member Kim Jaejoong also established iNKODE Entertainment in 2023 to manage his personal activities and has since expanded to train new artists as well.

An entertainment industry official explained, "In the past, agencies mainly took on the investment and risk while sharing profits with artists. Recently, more artists with established recognition and fandoms are creating their own corporations and promoting independently. For top artists, operating through an independent company is advantageous in terms of profit distribution structure."

Go Hyunjung speaks up about 'extreme diet' rumors ... "Absolutely not true, I get sick when I eat"

SOURCE: 고현정, 결국 '극단적 다이어트' 입 열었다…"절대 아니야, 음식 먹으면 아픈 상황" (걍민경)

Actress Go Hyunjung personally addressed the suspicions that she had been undergoing an 'extreme diet.'

On the 7th, a video titled 'Taming Go Hyunjung' was uploaded to the Youtube channel 'Just Minkyung.'

In the video, Go Hyunjung honestly opened up about her current condition and life after her health deteriorated.

She said, "After undergoing major emergency surgery in 2020, I was in a 'wait and see' situation. They had only managed to stitch the area connecting the duodenum and pancreas. There were also problems with my stomach, so it was all very complicated," revealing her past health issues.

She continued, "I was taking my medication properly and managing things well, but in 2024 there were several situations that caused me extreme stress. Because of that, I collapsed again. I needed to go to the hospital, but by then the system had changed. Not just anyone could enter the emergency room anymore. They wouldn't take you unless you were a CPR patient. After being turned away repeatedly, I kept going from place to place until I reached a point where I simply could no longer endure it. Only then did they finally admit me. I went into surgery around 12.20 or 12.30 AM. That's how I survived," recalling the urgent situation.

She also talked about the changes in her physical condition afterward.

Go Hyunjung confessed, "In the past, people used to say I spoke a little slowly, but now many people say I seem weak and low on energy. The reason I look low on energy is because I really do have little energy."

She added, "I used to love just eating whatever and cooking for myself, but food doesn't go down well anymore now. Even with kimbap, which I absolutely love, I become terrified that something bad will happen after eating just two or three pieces. I really hate the pain that comes after eating."

When Kang Minkyung asked, "What do the doctors say?" Go Hyunjung replied, "They tell me to take my medicine regularly and eat even when I don't want to." She then admitted, "So, I feel a bit depressed," revealing her emotional struggles.

She said, "There should be a balance, shouldn't there? Being skinny is only good to a certain point, and the same goes for energy. People always say that as you get older, you live off the strength you get from eating."

Previously, Go Hyunjung became a hot topic for her extremely thin appearance, leading some netizens to speculate that she was on an extreme diet.

Addressing the rumors, she drew a firm line, "People think I'm on an extreme diet, but why would I go on a diet now, at a time when my health is fluctuating, when I never even dieted that way when I was younger? It's really not true."

She added, "I'm diligently going to the hospital and taking my medication. I want to get healthy quickly, manage myself properly, and start strength training soon."

Meanwhile, Go Hyunjung underwent surgery due to health problems last December and suspended her activities. She was discharged after about a month of treatment.

WOODZ apologizes for 'unpaid staff recruitment' controversy ... "We confirmed it and sincerely apologize"

On the 8th, a representative of EDAM Entertainment told MyDaily, "We have confirmed with the local concert organizer regarding this matter. We sincerely apologize for not thoroughly reviewing this matter in advance."

They continued, "Regarding the shortcomings in local concert operations, we will work closely with the local concert organizer to make sure necessary measures are taken," and added, "We will strengthen our communication with local partners in the future so that the entire concert operation process proceeds smoothly. We will also review matters more carefully and thoroughly."

Earlier, a recruitment notice for staff for WOODZ's concert in Germany was posted online. The notice stated that volunteers would be assigned duties like crowd control, merchandise booth management, and assisting show runners, yet stated that the role would be 'unpaid,' with only meals provided and access to the concert included.

Responding to criticism about the unpaid situations, they said, "The company is recruiting unpaid volunteers in exchange for allowing them to watch the concert. I posted this thinking it'd could be a good opportunity for fans of that artist. I would appreciated it if only those interested apply. Interpretation work is paid," which further fueled the controversy.

The posting listed qualifications such as 'Proficiency in Korean/German/English,' 'K-Pop concert experience preferred,' and 'Knowledge of lighting/sound equipment.'

However, controversy arose because they also stated, "Unpaid, meals provided, and includes concert viewing." Despite assigning tasks such as crowd control, merchandise booth management, and show runner duties, the positions were being offered as unpaid volunteer work.

In particular, ticket prices for the concert are being sold for around 420,000 KRW for VIP seats, 190,000 KRW for priority entry, and 150,000 KRW for general admission.

The application for the position has already closed now. The person who posted the notice explained, "I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is in charge of the WOODZ's concert in Germany."

Addressing the criticism about the unpaid positions, the person who posted it said, "It seems the company is recruiting unpaid volunteers in exchange for allowing them to watch the concert," and added, "I posted this thinking it'd could be a good opportunity for fans of that artist. I would appreciated it if only those interested apply. Interpretation work is paid."

Meanwhile, WOODZ is set to hold his world tour 'Archive. 1' in Berlin, London, Frankfurt, and Paris this June.

Singer Yoon Sang revealed that following his eldest son's debut with RIIZE, his second son is now also preparing to become an idol.

On the episode of KBS 'Problem Child in House' that aired on the 7th, the OG sweet-voice boyfriend trio Lee Hyunwoo, Yoon Sang, and Kim Hyunchul appeared as guests.

During the show, Yoon Sang talked about his eldest son, Anton, who is currently active as a member of RIIZE. He said, "At first, I opposed it because there was no guarantee he would debut," and added, "When he suddenly said he wanted to come back to Korea, it gave me a headache. I thought, 'I didn't live apart from my family all those years just for this.'"

Yoon Sang was afraid that he might be blocking his son's dream, saying, "I told him to come to Korea for now." At the time, Anton had been a competitive swimmer for over 10 years, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, swimming pools were closed and he was no longer able to train.

Explaining what eventually changed his mind, Yoon Sang shared, "He kept sending me so many songs that he had composed himself. I could feel how serious he was about music and realized that I couldn't stop him."

Ultimately, Anton succeeded in debuting with RIIZE, and seeing that inspired Yoon Sang's younger son to dream of becoming a singer as well. Yoon Sang revealed, "My second son is five years younger than him. With his older brother becoming an idol, how could he focus on studying?" and confirmed that his second son is also preparing to be an idol.

Yoon Sang then joked, "Now, Anton is the one who opposes it. He tells his younger brother to focus on studying," making everyone laugh. He added, "But still, shouldn't I give them equal opportunities? If he finds it too hard or realizes that it's not his path, he can always go back to studying."

Meanwhile, Yoon Sang married Shim Hyejin in 2002 and has two sons. His eldest son, Lee Chanyoung, was active as a swimmer in the United States before debuting in 2023 as a member of RIIZE under SM Entertainment.

When the production team followed up by saying, "But when she was in 5th grade, didn't you say that you definitely wanted her to go to college?"

Hong Jinkyung said, "If there's something specific she wants to learn, of course she should go. But going to college just because everyone else is going? I think that's truly meaningless."
