Jisoo denied any connections to her older brother, yet his name appears as CEO in the credits of 'Boyfriend on Demand'

SOURCE: 지수, 친오빠 관련 없다더니…'월간남친' 크레딧에 대표 이름 버젓이

While BLACKPINK's Jisoo stated that she has no connections to her older brother, who is currently embroiled in various criminal allegations, attention is being drawn to the fact that his name was clearly listed as the agency's CEO in the credits of her previous works.

On the 20th, the legal representative of Jisoo's one-person agency BLISSOO released a statement, saying, "The current issues are completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO, and much of the information circulating online consists of unverified speculation or clear falsehoods."

They added, "The artist became independent early as she started her trainee life at a young age and has lived apart from her family for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in that individual's private life," clearly distancing her from the controversy involving her older brother.

They continued, "While the artist received limited advice from family members during the early stages of preparing to establish BLISSOO, no family member has ever received a salary or participate in the decision-making. Since then, the company has been operating completely independently without any involvement from family members."

Additionally, they clarified that rumors suggesting 'the individual in question and the artist established the agency together' or that 'the individual in question is an executive or CEO of BLISSOO' are entirely false and that the individual in question has no legal or managerial relationship to BLISSOO.

However, contrary to this statements, some netizens have raised questions after noticing that Jisoo's older brother's name was listed as the agency's CEO in the credits of her projects. Not only in the credits of 'Newtopia' released in February, but also in the credits of 'Boyfriend on Demand' released last month, a person with the same name as her older brother was listed as the CEO of BLISSOO Entertainment. Following the controversy, the staff credits for 'Boyfriend on Demand' were reportedly edited to remove all individual staff names and changing it simply to 'BLISSOO Entertainment.'

Netizens are saying that if her brother was never involved in BLISSOO's management, as Jisoo's side had claimed, an explanation is needed as to why his name appeared in the credits. On the other hand, some netizens are defending her, saying, "It could be someone with the same name," and "Since Jisoo has clearly drawn a line, it's too much to link her to a family member's wrongdoing."

Meanwhile, reports claimed that a man identified as the older brother of a girl group member had been accused not only of sexually harassing a female BJ, but also abusing his wife. Following this, speculation later arose that the individual in question was Jisoo's older brother.

SOURCE: 블랙핑크 지수, 공항 취재 돌연 취소…가족 논란 여파?

BLACKPINK's Jisoo has suddenly canceled her scheduled media coverage for her departure to Paris on the 22nd. It is now being interpreted as a result of the ongoing controversy involving her older brother, who has been booked on charges of sexual assault and is also facing accusations of domestic violence.

A representative stated on the 21st, "Due to unavoidable internal circumstances, the press schedule regarding Jisoo's airport departure scheduled for the 22nd has been canceled." Jisoo was originally planned to depart for Paris, France, via Incheon Airport on the 22nd and showcase her airport fashion to the press.

The cancellation drew attention as it follows immediately after her agency, BLISSOO, released an official statement the previous day, the 20th, regarding the controversy surrounding her older brother. Through their legal representative from Kim & Chang, they stated, "The current issues are completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO," and added, "Jisoo became independent early as she started her trainee life at a young age and has lived apart from her family for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in that individual's private life."

Furthermore, they also emphasized that while she did receive some limited advice from family members during the early stages of establishing BLISSOO, "no family member has ever received a salary or participated in the decision-making.

Additionally, they firmly stated there is no current or future plans to provide financial or legal support to the individual in question. Regarding the spread of false information and defamation, they stated, "We will take all possible civil and criminal legal action."

Police request arrest warrant for HYBE's Bang Sihyuk on charges of fraudulent unfair trading

Police have applied for an arrest warrant for HYBE's chairman, Bang Sihyuk, who is suspected of engaging in fraudulent unfair trading.

On the 21st, the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had requested an arrest warrant for Bang Sihyuk on charges of fraudulent unfair trading.

Bang Sihyuk is accused of inducing investors to sell their shares to a specific private equity fund in 2019 after telling them there were no plans for a public listing. The investors reportedly sold their stakes based on his statements, but there are suspicions that HYBE was already undergoing preliminary procedures for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) at the time.

In this process, Bang Sihyuk is also suspected of pocketing approximately 190 billion KRW in illicit gains through a prior shareholders' agreement with the private equity fund.

In response, the police imposed a travel ban on Bang Sihyuk last year and have conducted five separate rounds of investigation.

"Give me a chance to re-serve" Song Mino admits to violating the Military Service Act ... Prosecution seek 1 year and 6 months sentence in prison

While Song Mino admitted to the charges during the first trial for violating the Military Service Act, the prosecution has requested a sentence of one year and six months in prison.

On the 21st, the Seoul Western District Court held the first hearing for Song Mino, who was indicted on charges of violating the Military Service Act. The prosecution asked the court to sentence him to one year and six months in prison.

Song Mino is accused of repeatedly being absent without leave while serving as a public service worker at community facilities, including the Mapo-gu Facilities Management Corporation in Seoul, from March 2023 to December 2024. The prosecution reportedly stated in the indictment that the total number of days he was absent from duty was 102. Public service workers are required to report for duty about 430 days, which means he allegedly failed to show up for about a quarter of his service period.

During the hearing, Song Mino's legal team admitted to all charges brought by the prosecution. In his final statement, he bowed his head and said, "I would like to offer my apologies." He added, "I suffer from bipolar disorder and panic disorder, but I know these conditions should never be used as an excuse or justification. If I am given the opportunity to serve again after recovering my health, I will faithfully complete my service to the end."

Meanwhile, an official identified as Lee, who was responsible for supervising Song Mino's service, was also put on trial on charges of falsifying attendance records and overlooking Song Mino's negligence. The prosecution believes Lee effectively aided Song Mino's unauthorized absences. However, Lee reportedly denied any collusion with Song Mino.

Under the Military Service Act, if a public service worker leaves their post without a valid reason for a total of eight days or more, they can be sentenced to up to three years in prison.

BLACKPINK Jisoo draws clear line regarding her older brother's controversy: "We have lived apart for a long time ... It's not related to me"

As Jisoo's older brother becomes embroiled in multiple controversies, Jisoo's side has stepped forward to distance her from the situation.

On the 20th, attorney Eun Hyunho from Kim & Chang, the legal representative for Jisoo's agency BLISSOO, released an official statement addressing the recent controversies surrounding her family.

The attorney stated, "We express deep regret regarding the reckless acts of linking the artist (Jisoo) and BLISSOO to this matter currently spreading through media outlets, online communities, and social media, and damaging their reputation based on false information."

He continued, "The current issues are completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO, and much of the information circulating online consists of unverified speculation or clear falsehoods. The artist became independent early as she started her trainee life at a young age and has lived apart from her family for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in that individual's private life," clearly distancing her from the controversy involving her older brother.

He added, "While the artist received limited advice from family members during the early stages of preparing to establish BLISSOO, no family member has ever received a salary or participate in the decision-making. Since then, the company has been operating completely independently without any involvement from family members," clarifying that rumors of her older brother being an executive or CEO of the company are entirely false, and that he has no legal or managerial ties to BLISSOO.

Furthermore, BLISSOO stated that they do not provide any financial or legal support to Jisoo's older brother, has no plans to do so, nor does it have any interaction or involvement with him regarding this matter.

The attorney warned, "Continuously spreading false information or linking the artist's name and image to these unrelated matters constitutes a clear violation of rights and defamation. We will take all possible civil and criminal legal action against those who create or distribute defamatory posts, use the artist's identity in unrelated issues, or create articles and content based on unverified speculation." He also added that there would be no leniency or settlements for malicious or repeat offenders.

Meanwhile, on the 16th, Channel A reported that a family member of a famous girl group member was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a female BJ. Speculation arose that this individual was Jisoo's older brother. The controversy further escalated when a woman identifying herself as his wife claimed on social media that she had suffered domestic violence by him.

Jo Hyunah mentioned Suzy's loyalty.

On the 20th, a video titled 'Bright-eyed chubby and restaurant auntie' was posted on Shin Dongyup's Youtube channel.

In the released video, Jo Hyunah talked about the time she lost her mother.

She said, "I was on my way home after having a drink with Suzy when I got a call from my sister. She told me to come quickly and I just had a feeling." She continued, "The funeral started early in the morning. Suzy came and sat in one spot for three days. Even when people recognized her and said, 'I's Suzy,' she just stayed there and asked for more dried squid. She even accompanied me to the crematorium and the burial site."

She added, "At the burial site, Suzy said, 'Mother, I will take good care of Unnie.'" Hearing this, Shin Dongyup said, "I worked with Suzy as an MC for a long time. I was so surprised to hear the story about the funeral. It's something you don't see often these days. Anyone who has lost a parent knows how difficult it is, and how grateful to have that kind of support is."
