The movie tickets are too expensive? There's nothing to watch? ... Over 7,000 comments discuss the crisis in the Korean Cinema Industry
> Will the crisis be resolved by lowering the price of movie tickets? That's not the case
First of all, let's talk about the price of movie tickets. Many people in the comment state that movie tickets are expensive. Choi Donghoon, the director of the movies 'Tazza' and 'Assassination', publicly points out that the price of movie tickets should be adjusted.
However, rather than lowering the price of movie tickets, the Cinema Industry needs to invest more in the theatres, technology, etc, in order to attract more audiences. Just like how classical and musical shows still attract audiences despite their tickets that cost hundreds of thousands of won, audiences wouldn't mind paying more if they think what they get is worth the price.
For example, 53% out of tens of millions of viewers of 'Avatar: The Way of Water' chose to watch the movie in special theatres that cost more than the regular theatres. The same applies to 'I'm Hero The Final' which shows the live performances of singer Im Youngwoong, the number of viewers who chose to watch the movie in Screen X theater, which is more expensive, is twice the number of viewers who chose to watch in the regular theater.
The question here is 'Can the theater provide an experience that is worth the price of 15,000 KRW (11.70 USD)?'. The Cinema Industry is aware of this. This is the reason why they're focusing more on planning events like cheer screenings in the theaters these days. The theater has its own upsides that can't be experienced by OTT viewers who are only watching from their phones.
Unfortunately, not all movies are suitable for cheer screenings. If the movie itself is not interesting for viewers, the advantage that theatres have become meaningless. This opinion is shown through comments that say, "I will only go to the cinema if the movie is interesting. If it's boring, I won't watch it even if it was free."
-I'm sure most people these days have 75-inch TVs at home, they would just wait until the movies are released on OTT platforms and watch them at home instead... I personally only watch movies in cinemas if they are worth the price, but I still have to admit that movie tickets are really expensive. I thought a lot of cinemas closed down during the pandemic, I guess some of them are still in business...
-I no longer watch movies in cinemas because the tickets are freaking expensive. It's been so f*cking long since the last time I went there.
-It's too late for them to lower the ticket prices now. I used to go to cinemas a lot back then, though. Lately, I just watch them on OTT platforms.
-That's the problem. I'd watch movies in cinemas if the tickets weren't that expensive.
-We have OTT platforms now. There's no reason to pay 15,000 KRW to watch movies in cinemas.
-There's a lot to watch on OTT platforms now, so why would I pay that much to watch movies in cinemas?ㅋㅋㅋ
-Just keep up the price and you'll go out of business soon~
-It's weird how they compare the cinema industry to the classical and musical show industry...
-The cinema industry can go to hell. I can barely even eat and survive with the money I make.
-Okay then, insist on keeping up the price, do whatever floats your boat. You'll go out of business soon, then~ The viewers have nothing to lose...
Boys Planet receive criticism for unfair amount of screen time among trainees
(These graphs are for Ep 6 and 7 combined)
Among the trainees with the most screen time, some of them are the subjects of 'evil-editing'
There are also some trainees who "ALWAYS" get the most screen time in each episode. This has raised criticism from viewers, because it makes it seem like the debut line-up has already been established beforehand.
The price of the outfits that Park Yeonjin wears in The Glory
Dint Red long one piece = 138,700 KRW (107.94 USD)
Zara jacket that Kate Middleton was seen wearing too in 2020 = 14 USD
Umer Matilda Jacket = 164,000 KRW (127.63 USD)
Dint blue blouse = 89,000 KRW (69.26 USD)
Green gradation one piece = 60,000 KRW (46.69 USD)
-They all look like they're from high-end luxury brands, though... Wowㅋㅋㅋ
-I thought everything she wears is from high-end luxury brands...
-Whoa... I thought her outfits were all really expensive
-I had no idea Yeonjin was that humble...
-You're telling me her outfits are not from luxury brands??@_@
-Her stylist did an amazing jobㅋㅋㅋㅋ She looks really good in those outfits
-She looks gorgeous in anything she wears...
-Whoa... I was wrong to blame my outfits all this time. I am the one to blameㅠㅠ
-Looks like Im Jiyeon is really tall, then. Outfits from Dint don't look good in short people.
-Ah... I guess this is exactly why I should lose weight...

What is the song that makes you so sad that you can't bring yourself to listen to it?
It's not a sad song, but that song reminds you of a specific time and you just can't bring yourself to listen to it.
Mine is NCT Dream's Diggityㅋㅋㅋ I also can't even listen to Dive Into You's intro because I'll cry right away,,
-Ann-Marie's 2002. I listened to it so much at one point and now I can't even listen to it again because I'm afraid I'll miss that time. I don't know if the song itself is sad or not, though.
-BTS' Tomorrow
-iKON's Wait For Me
-X1's Flash
ㄴI'm tearing up just by seeing their name😭 This is also exactly why I don't listen to Wanna One's songs anymore
-SHINee's An Encore
-OSTs of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
-SHINee's Please Don't Go
-EXO's Peterpan
-Yook Sungjae's Talk... The song itself is not that sad, it's just that the song reminds me of a specific time back then and it makes me sad, which is why I can't listen to it anymore
-iKON's Wait For Me and Long Time No See
-Lee Hi's Breathe
-Listening to Infinite's Tic Toc and Feel So Bad consecutively makes me feel like the main character of an MV
-Jonghyun's Before Our Spring
Who do you think has the best visual in Boys Planet?
Does this question get divided answers?
-Kim Jiwoong, Ma Jing Xiang
-There are a lot of handsome trainees in the show, but my favorites are Lee Junghyun and Ricky
-I personally think it's Kim Jiwoong
-Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong
-Kim Jiwoong
-Kim Jiwoong or Kim Gyuvin
-Sung Hanbin, Zhang Hao
-SHB
-If we're talking about visuals only, it's obviously Kim Jiwoong
-Hanbin and Jiwoong
-I agree with that comment. Kim Jiwoong is handsome. But Sung Hanbin has this idol-like handsomeness.
-The most handsome one is Kim Jiwoong. But Sung Hanbin has the looks of an idol. However, my personal favorite is Zhang Hao...ㅎ
-Zhang Hao
-Kim Jiwoong. But my favorite is Seok Matthew.
-Honestly speaking, it's Ma Jing Xiang
-Kim Gyuvin
