IOI's 10th anniversary reunion almost fell through ... Yoo Yeonjung: "The comeback plans fell apart twice"

Yoo Yeonjung of IOI, who recently made a glamorous comeback after 10 years, shared her feelings about the preparations behind the group's eventful reunion.

On the 27th, a video titled, "I laid down to sleep and suddenly we're talking about love stories: Dating, marriage, family, self-love, IOI" was posted on the Youtube channel of dancer-turned-creator Kwon Ttotto. In the video, Chungha, Yoo Yeonjung, and Jeon Somi appeared as guests and shared various conversations with Kwon Ttotto.

In the beginning of the video, Kwon Ttotto expressed her excitement, saying, "Today, I invited some friends I can talk comfortably with. This time, IOI is making a comeback. Back when I was active as a dancer, I used to work with Chungha. I also used to spend a lot of time together with Yeonjung too. As for Somi, we only knew each other through mutual acquaintances, so this is actually the first time we've properly talked like this."

The four then discussed IOI's comeback. During the conversation, Yoo Yeonjung honestly shared her thoughts, saying, "Honestly, our comeback plans fell through about once or twice before. Even this time, everyone was doubtful, wondering, 'Will this actually work?' Among ourselves, there was this unspoken feeling that if it fell apart again this time, it would really be over forever. So we thought, 'No matter what, let's stick together. Let's make this happen.' I think that's what made this comeback actually happened."

Chungha then added, "When we get together, we actually lose money. We actually can earn much more when we promote individually." Yoo Yeonjung continued, "Honestly, we weren't in a financially comfortable situation while preparing this comeback. However, there were so many people who helped us, saying things like, 'I know you guys aren't making money from this, but I'll give up making money too and join you this time.' Thanks to people like that, this album was created. That's why this album really feels like love."

Following their debut in 2016, IOI ended their activities in 2017 after their contract concluded. This May, they reunited with fans by releasing their 10th debut anniversary album 'IOI: LOOP.'

The members of IOI revealed each other’s preferences in men.

On the 18th, a video titled "IOI Jeon Somi, Choi Yoojung, Chungha, Yoo Yeonjung: Produce 101 stories after 10 years" was uploaded to the Youtube channel 'Zzanbro Shin Dongyup.' The members gathered to celebrate IOI's 10th debut anniversary and chatted with MC Shin Dongyup.

In the video, Jung Hocheol asked, "Among the members, who is the pickiest when it comes to men?" In response, Chungha answered, "Honestly, don’t we all agree? I think Yeonjung is the pickiest."

Yoo Yeonjung confidently said, "I think we all know each other’s tastes pretty well. If I say it, it’ll probably be exactly right." She continued, "Somi likes guys with a bad-boy vibe. She likes someone with a flashy style similar to her own. Like someone who dresses a little extravagantly," which made Jeon Somi's face turn red. Seeing this, Shin Dongyup laughed and said, "She’s so innocent. Your face turned red because she described it that accurately?"

Yoo Yeonjung also said, "Yoojung likes someone with a somewhat pretty, delicate face. Chungha likes someone dependable, manly, and quiet. He shouldn't talk too much." Chungha then added, "Yeonjung is extremely detailed," before sharing Yeonjung's ideal type: "First of all, he has to be fair-skinned, tall, really dependable, and kind. He also needs to have puppy-like visuals, and no double eyelids." As Chungha kept listing the long requirements, Jeon Somi and Yoo Yeonjung strongly agreed.

Jeon Somi then remarked, "(Yeonjung) has never dated anyone before." In response, Yoo Yeonjung jokingly replied, "I've been too busy dating my fans."

Yoo Yeonjung also joked, "Even my company told me, ‘You're allowed to date now. It’s rare for someone to have debuted and promoted this long without any rumors at all, so you're okay now.'"

Celebrating their 10th debut anniversary, IOI will release their third mini album, 'I.O.I : LOOP,' today at 6 PM (KST).

IOI's reactions when Yoo Yeonjung hit her high notes

Dawon is the real victim in WJSN after their company added Yoo Yeonjung to the group..

I like Yoo Yeonjung, but I really feel sorry towards the other WJSN's members after their company decided to add her into the group..

The members who used to be the center of the group are being pushed away, and their parts are becoming less now..

Even the main vocal of the group, Dawon, doesn't have part as much as the lead vocal in the other groups do..

The difference are so obvious and noticeable..

And in Girls Spirit these days, Yoo Yeonjung is the only one who does high parts..

I know it is because it might be their only chance to get WJSN more popularity this time by using Yoo Yeonjung's name..

I can sense that their company are dividing their parts in their recent song like that so Yoo Yeonjung can appear more in Girls Spirit, it's not like Dawon can't do high parts..

It's true that from the company's point of view, WJSN can get more popularity because of Yoo Yeonjung, that's why they're working really hard now..

But I really feel sorry towards the other members of WJSN..
