'Dating rumors' DAY6 Dowoon leaves ambiguous statement → Protest trucks calling for him to 'leave the group'

After DAY6's Dowoon personally addressed the dating and marriage rumors connecting him to YouTuber Yoo Jiyoo, fan outrage has escalated. Some fans sent protest trucks to JYP Entertainment's headquarters, demanding Dowoon's withdrawal from the band.

On the 28th, protest trucks demanding Dowoon's withdrawal were sent to JYP Entertainment's headquarters. The LED screens displayed messaged like, 'Yoon Dowoon, leave (the band),' 'No official statement,' and 'Do you support Dowoon's withdrawal?' Rather than the dating rumors itself, dans clarified that their anger was caused by how the situation is being handled.

Recently, dating rumors between Dowoon and Yoo Jiyoo spread across online communities. Netizens online pointed out the shared matching items and accessories, similar pet photos, and even mutual acquaintances. The rumors quickly escalated to marriage rumors after account surfaced claiming that the two was spotted going for a wedding consultation. Yoo Jiyoo is known to be the younger sister of Youtuber Yoo Hyejoo.

Regarding this matter, JYP Entertainment stated, "We have no official statement," leading many fans to view this as an acknowledgment of their relationship.

As the controversy escalated, Dowoon left a message on his personal social media account, stating, "Our team will never disappear no matter what. I'm not going anywhere, so please just ignore the negative posts. I'm sorry for causing you pain. Please just wait a little bit longer."

Despite so, fans expressed their disappointment over his ambiguous message. Many felt his choice of words failed to serve as a proper apology or explanation. In particular, some criticized and pointed out the dialect and spelling errors made the message seem overly casual.

Meanwhile, DAY6 is currently promoting with four members including Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon. They are scheduled to hold their 10th debut anniversary tour, 'THE DECADE: Finale in Seoul,' this July at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park. They also have an upcoming performance in Kobe, Japan next month.

DAY6 Dowoon's dating rumors ... Even went for a marriage consultation? Agency says, "No official statement"

DAY6's drummer Dowoon surrounded by dating rumors. The individual being speculated as his partner is A, the younger sibling of influencer Yoo Hyeju.

Recently, allegations that Dowoon and A are dating have been raised across online communities. Netizens pointed out to the similarities in their home interior designs captured in the pictures revealed through social media and broadcasts. As well as the fact that the dog riding in Dowoon's car actually belongs to A.

In particular, claims that Dowoon and A went to wedding planner consultations together further fueled the rumors. 

Regarding this, Dowoon's agency, JYP Entertainment, told Ilgan Sports on the 26th, "We have no official statement," offering a short response.

Meanwhile, Dowoon debuted in 2015 as the drummer of DAY6. Born in 1995, he is currently 31 years old and recently appeared on the MBC's 'I Live Alone.'

DAY6 Dowoon caught the celebrity syndrome

 

I think I’ve really caught the celebrity syndrome. Yesterday, I stepped outside on the first floor for a bit, and someone kept staring at me, so I thought, ‘Oh, maybe they recognized me?’ and I turned my head. But then I realized that the flashlight on my phone was on, and it must have been blinding them. So that person was probably just thinking, ‘Why is that person walking around with their flashlight on?'

This is seriously a legendary case of celebrity syndrome. From now on, I’m just going to stare back at anyone looking at me to confirm if they actually recognize me, like 'Are you really looking at me?'
